Pictures: Take One

More pictures to come - These ones are all mixed up but it took me forever to get them uploaded (gotta love dial-up). Stay tuned!

The sandcastle king: What a guy!

While on Grand Manan we had a camp fire. Tim Branscombe and Ben were in charge of the fire.
The Tatton girls (Robin & Holly) and I sat and watched the boys try to keep the fire going. It lasted long enough for us to make some smores.

During our visit to Ottawa we got to spend some time with our nephew Alexander Canney.

Romeo - Carmine and Dan's beloved dog. He went with us to Hershey Park. We love this little guy.

King of Prussia, PA - A visit with our friends Carmine and Dan Bortner. Congrats to Dan who just got promotion within his clothing company Diesel. He and Carm will be moving to the Big Apple which will make another great spot for us to visit!

When were you in King of Prussia? I was but 10 minutes away visiting Dani and Tim Shaw in West Chester a couple weeks ago!

and also Ottawa. Really, Sarah, we've GOT to coordinate our schedules ;)

LOL - We were in King of Prussia and Ottawa in June. Next time we go vacationing through the US I'll have to notify you :) We were supposed to meet up with AP on our way to Ottawa and it didn't quite work out...I don't think he'll ever let us live it down.

Ummm...is Ben wearing a wet-suit in pic #1??

I can't move on until I know for sure...

Sawa, haha, yes, do that! please. I know, I know: I just missed AP as well. :( Hey, I just realized that 5/6 of Team Evidence 2001 has been in the West Chester/King of Prussia area in the last few months. (Dave's family moved back there, and Kat and he were visiting, apparently). Weird.

LOL - Okay Kristi - It's not a wet-suit, but it is a UV protectant shirt which looks like a wet-suit. Ben really hasn't been a fan of the beach because he burns so easily, and his burn turns into freckles, so this summer while in Ottawa we found this UV protectant shirt. I'm more apt to get him to the beach now because of this.

One more thing Kristi - this particular pose makes him look like he has man boobs (aka "shemeebs") with that shirt on, but for the record he doesn't have them. LOL Sorry but I find this particular conversation amusing.

As I do I sarah, as do I....

I esp. enjoyed reading about his fake 'shemeebs'!!! And now that is my new favorite word!! I'm going to try and incoporate it into everything. See I've only ever heard the following words:
Sweater Meat
Man boobs
Beefy (insert horn honk here) (starts with a 't' and I don't use this one..only heard it)
And let's not forget the Sienfeld episode of "the bro"

I'm over the wet suit now and have moved on to Ben's non-shemeebs!!!

P.S. Where did Ben get his UV shirt? In light of this conversation I think I should maybe get one!

Ben got his UV shirt at Mountain Equipment Company (You can most likely find them online). My friend Carmine found one at a store called California Sunshine and reminded me of one you'd see Cameron Diaz or some surfer chic whereing to the beach with a bikini bottom.

As for the word - It is one of my personal favs. Ben introduced me to that one. He and some BBC guys use it quite regularly. I wasn't quite sure how to spell it so I hope it enabled you to get the right pronounciation. The "e" in the "she" part is nearly silent so it's kind of like shhmeebs but it blends together. Another classic word Ben has introduced me to is "squeege" which is a word used when someone is having a poop. For example, instead of saying, "I just had a poop" one might say, "I just had a squeege".

Life sure does change after marriage!
